Most of us hit a point in our lives where we just feel lost. (Some of us hit it a few times.) Life happens and we start to feel sad, scared, bored, and uncertain. It's in these moments and situations where we're forced to make a choice: learn & grow, or find your way back to how things used to be.
Life is NOT how it used to be, not last year and not even last month. How do we move forward when it feels like things are changing so rapidly? My first piece of advice: turn to your community of entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurs
It is literally our job to innovate, create, and question the status quo. As heart-centred entrepreneurs, we strive to do business because we want to help people and add our value to the world. We thought we could do better work, create a better product, or serve people (including ourselves) in a better way, so we wrangled up the courage to go out on our own. Most of us have built our businesses from the ground up, and learned almost every aspect of what to do. Why? Because we're great problem solvers who likely started by doing everything ourselves. As we grow, we've learned where we need help & know to ask for it.
Growth
In order to serve our audience well, we need to do a lot of personal & professional growing. Each time you are brought out of your comfort zone is just another opportunity for you to learn something new. Your comfort zone is built by your habits. What kinds of habits do you have? Not all of them are great, and that's okay. By practicing the things you DO want, you push the boundaries of comfort a little farther.
"Uncertain times are a reminder to come back to your core values."
Uncertain times are a reminder to come back to your core values. What brings you joy? What matters in your life? How can you honour the things that matter to you? I like to think of it as a course adjustment in my life's path.
Learn to Shift
There are things we can control, and things we cannot. Place your valuable effort in things that matter to you and that you can control. Just because life gives us obstacles, doesn't mean we have to stop, they're there to help us learn to adapt so we can conquer the next one, and the next one after that.

As the world evolves, I encourage people to ask themselves what they want life to look like everyday. Does this mean working from home more? Less hard work & more smart work? A better understanding of mental health for both you and your family? Your past experiences are not separate boxes, the skills, behaviours, lessons, and knowledge can be intertwined. Think about how seemingly unrelated areas can be connected. Look for patterns in meaning, where you found joy, and what came naturally. Relate your findings to what you say you value & make a shift. Ask A Solopreneur
Shifting into something new can be scary, but it's almost guaranteed somebody else has been there. Ask your community of entrepreneurs. Thinking of working from home? There's a huge push for more flexibility, better environments, more understanding, and of course the benefit of a more sustainable lifestyle. You know who's got that mastered? Solopreneurs!

Thinking of starting a side business for extra monthly income? People are diversifying their income to protect their finances from things like job loss & injury. You know who can help you get started and find your balance? Solopreneurs and highly trained MLM & direct sales reps! Solopreneurs make up almost 60% of all entrepreneurs (according to Start-Up Canada's 2018 survey). It's how most big or small businesses start. We've failed, grown, shifted, and created change.
Economy & Value
Our passion work is how we help build a better economy: we take the resources we have and create more of what we need, more sustainably & productively. In many cases, there's only 1 of us, so finding a smarter way is essential to staying in business.
While we can struggle with our own value, we see the deeper value of those around us. As long as we could live a life that made us happy, and needed for nothing, we'd likely do our work for free. The economy isn't just about money, it's about values. Money is just 1 way to show how much we value something.
"Every dollar, every hour, and every effort is an investment."
Every dollar, every hour, and every effort is an investment. How are you choosing to invest your future? What are you investing in? Does this investment give back the things that matter to you?
Let Us Help Look, we've been there. Life can change rapidly or so slowly you don't notice, but either way it's not what you wanted and you need a helping hand. Remember, asking for help is NOT weakness, it takes great courage to take the next step. Let us help. How can an entrepreneur help you? Share using the hashtag #BEDMASlife.
